Working for the Lord is a JOY!

OK this cartoon has me thinking. I have been in the church all my life. Growing up, my parents were faithful workers of the kingdom. It never occurred to me that what we did for the church was “work”. I realize now that it was due to my parents attitudes towards the church and the house of God. Working in the church from a ministerial point of few has only increased my love for working for the Lord. I am so thankful to my parents for training me to be a worker.

When I think about the body of Christ, the church I think of it as a whole. The choir needs the usher who needs the Sunday school teacher, who needs the hostess, who needs the nursery worker, and we all need the head our Pastor. When everyone is working together, accenting each department in a church with prayer, fasting, encouragement, and love there is a spirit of unity and everyone has Victory. However, when one member becomes dissatisfied and, the enemy convinces them they are not important the whole body is affected, like when you stub your toe, it makes everything hurt. My prayer today for all believers is:

Lord, you see each and every soul working in your kingdom. You see Lord how the enemy roams the world seeking those who he can make stumble and fall. Lord I am asking today that you would strengthen those who are struggling and feeling they have no value in doing your work. Lord I know that if they will only look up and begin to focus on you, that they will once again realize that it is because of you that we labor. It is not for the glory of man, it is for your glory. Everything we do and touch Lord is so that someone might be blessed, someone Lord might know you in a deeper way, Father that someone would turn from there wicked ways and, begin to serve you and become a worker in your kingdom. God your coming is drawing closer every day. Lord we combat every lie the enemy throws into the minds of those who are weighing on the edges. For I know Lord that we are all important to your kingdom, and it will take us all working together to make it to heaven. Lord, your grace and mercy I pray into the lives of those who read this today, that they might be blessed of you, and encouraged. That they might realize Lord how valuable they are to you and, to the work you have called them to do that we may all Lord reach the gates of Heaven and our reward in Jesus Name. Amen.
