Hungry!

WOW! What a week-end. We have spent the last two days in Conroe TX working with Bro. & Sis. Smith. CUPC threw a MAJOR block party that not only changed the lives of the people in the neighborhood we were working, it changed ME! It was so amazing to see so many hungry people. No not for the yummy BBQ chicken we gave away, although they enjoyed it so much many went back for seconds. It was the spiritual hunger on so many faces that touched my heart. I take so much for granted. I enjoy such peace, joy, love, and contentment. Looking over the crowd, I could see such lost, broken, empty faces that were longing for something more. I felt so helpless. Here I have the answer to what these people are looking for and, I want to just give it to them on a silver platter. Yet I know that they must want it for themselves. They must realize the need and desire to receive the gift. We had several come up and pray and two were baptized. Tears rolled down my face as I prayed with one elderly lady. I thought, “Lord, this lady is hungry for You, she needs You so desperately, just touch her Lord.” I know this prayer was answered, due to the smile on her face when she walked away; a smile, so simple, and so very sweet, a smile that had not been there before we prayed together. Sometimes it is the small steps we take towards God that are the biggest. I will continue to pray for this neighborhood and the people who live there. It is not the “right side of the tracks” but, to GOD there are no tracks only people who He desires to draw closer to Him.
