Sisters

Oh the joys of sisterhood! It is amazing to me, as I grow older (aagghhuumm not that old hahaha) how much closer I am to my sisters. I am the oldest child out of four; I have one brother and two younger sisters. Growing up I was always “Miz Bossy” while I must agree that I deserved the title I feel that somehow in my “maturity” that I have mellowed. Looking back there were times when I felt that my sister were just lil girls and they were raining on my parade. Now my sisters and I are best friends. We talk to each other almost daily, we have so many of the same interest, and I treasure them as the jewels they are to me. I love shopping with them, laughing together, and even embarrassing them at times. One particular incident comes to mind.

My mom had sent me to pick up the girls from school. One street in our town is pretty narrow, not really big enough for two cars, much less a car and a school bus. So here I was with the girls in my moms van on this narrow rode, when I look up coming toward us is a school bus. Trying to scoot over so there will be room enough for both vehicles, I ended up in the ditch. My sisters about die, because the only way the bus can get around us is to have some of the older students and the bus driver get out and help push us out of the ditch. While this in itself was bad enough the situation was made much worse by the fact that I was wearing a long flannel robe that zipped up the front and, had rollers in my hair. My poor little sisters, they were mortified for they would have to see all of these children the next day at school. They left me in my dilemma and began to walk the rest of the way home. What was there left for me to do but stand patiently on the side of the rode waiting for the bus driver and the young men to help out the maiden in distress.

So many fond memories, I could blog all day however, we will save those for a rainy day.
